Developer Drawings

Developer Drawings are an experiment to make images using only light and the varying chemical developers contained in expired, disused, and inconsistent instant film. I make these images without a camera and instead manipulate developer directly on the film surface with brayers and palette knives. Varying light conditions trigger reactions which change the color and the texture of the developer. The age and kind of film stock create further variables, making every image unique and unrepeatable.
